This course provides students in the skilled trades with a comprehensive understanding of occupational health and safety (OHS) principles, legislation, and best practices in Ontario. Emphasizing real-world application, the course explores hazard recognition, risk assessment, accident prevention, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) across various trade environments. Students will gain familiarity with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHIMIS), and other relevant provincial regulations. This course will highlight the roles and responsibilities of workers, supervisors, and employers in maintaining a safe and compliant workplace.
