Students will learn about the forest management and planning process in Ontario including
principles of sustainable forest management and how Ontario`s forest policy provides for
sustainability of resource use. Students will participate in practical field exercises, analyze a
wide range of resource management issues, develop their own plan for a private woodlot. This
course emphasizes the importance of policy, understanding how a forest technician contributes
to the forest management planning process, and incorporates GIS applications.
